Cupcake challenge ::: week 8

The theme this week was Mario

This is my second week doing the cupcake challenge with number 2, last week when I posted I had no clue that number 5 was going to participate also or I would have linked her also!

The theme this week was Mario something I relate to two different times in my life when we lived on Chanute Air Force Base we had an Atari ( or some device back then the cartridges were all pretty universal) but a neighbor of ours had a nes. I played Mario a little at there place. The other is number 2s husband they used to come visit after they moved away and would bring Mario with them to play! We had a lot of fun!

For this week I used a box cake mix, I made cupcakes and cake balls, I used them to make the man eating flowers that would come out of the pipe to get you!

I went to get the pan for the cake balls and came home only to open it and find the directions say as fallows. To fallow the box recipe as normal, this is then fallowed buy for best results an extra egg, milk instead of water, and half of what it calls for. Then to add one package of pudding (doesn't say instant or not) of similar flavor. This BTW is no were on the outside of the box for the product!

So since I wasn't going back to the store I decided to just make the cupcakes, add some flour and then make the balls. I used a white cake mix fallowed the no yolks recipe, added green die so the cake can be the pipe the plant come out of.

The frosting is just left over from last week I split it into three and made the colors I needed, black, and red. Added some green to the red so it wasn't bright red. I dipped and rolled the ball after I put it on the stick in the red frosting then put it in the freezer so it was firm while I did the white.

I didn't want to color the white plastic stick green with a marker, and couldn't find a paper stick to color so please just imagine! Lol.

  1. I didn't say how much flour was added.. I added 1/4. A cup to ruffly the half of the batter that was left over from the cupcakes. This was almost not enough for the balls.
